This summer I was asked to paint a reproduction of Gustav Klimt’s Poppies. Klimt is a master artist famous for his portraits of women in abstract gold patterns.
He is less known for his landscape paintings, but personally I like them the best! He creates vibrant impressionistic gardens filled with flowers and foliage. When I was asked to reproduce one of his works I went to the Neue Galerie http://www.neuegalerie.org/ in Manhattan to see in person his color pallet and technique. It was an honor to replicate one of his beautiful works and it was also very fun! I basically painted 10,000 brushstrokes to complete this painting. I do hope that my patrons enjoy this hand made reproduction for years to come!
