This is my latest finished Oil Painting. Panoramic Yellow Daisies was inspired by the gardens of The Getty Museum in LA and by Van Gogh’s swirling colors.
This is the first time I have explored color on such an abstrcted ground and the process was intoxicating.
I will show you a little of the process I use in making paintings. I take stretcher bars, that I bought from John Hiemstra’s moving sale, and staple canvas to the front of them.
And then I paint Gesso (white water based paint) on the surface to seal the canvas.
I begin painting the first layer.
And I paint some more…
Until! I stop. and I am finished.
